Letter from the President
Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends,
As President of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), I am delighted to welcome you to the EADV Spring Symposium, which will take place in Athens from 7–9 May 2026.
The EADV Spring Symposia occupy a distinctive place within our scientific calendar, reflecting our commitment to European inclusiveness while offering an in-depth focus on key dermatological and venereological topics. For 2026, we have chosen the inspiring setting of Athens, a city universally regarded as the cradle of Western civilisation, where scientific inquiry, medicine, and philosophy first flourished. This historic backdrop provides a fitting environment for scientific exchange and reflection on the evolution of medical knowledge.
The Symposium will be hosted at the Megaron Athens, a unique venue in the heart of the city, renowned for its outstanding facilities, striking architecture, and state-of-the-art technology, with the capacity to welcome up to 6,000 delegates in an optimal scientific setting.
As every year, the EADV Spring Symposium offers an exceptional opportunity for professional networking and knowledge sharing, bringing together healthcare professionals dedicated to advancing skin and venereal health. The dynamic three-day programme is carefully designed to meet the needs of both early-career dermatologists and venereologists, as well as experienced specialists.
The scientific programme, curated by the newly appointed Scientific Programming Chair Professor Lidia Rudnicka and leading experts, will cover a broad spectrum of topics through a carefully selected range of sessions. Two outstanding Plenary Lectures will be highlights of the meeting: Professor Nektarios Tavernarakis (Heraklion, Greece) will demonstrate the novel mechanisms of ageing to new therapeutic interventions, while Dr. Lydia Trakatelli (Athens, Greece) will take us on a fascinating journey through Beauty and dermatology practices in Ancient Greece, bridging historical perspectives with contemporary practice.
I warmly invite you to join us in Athens for what promises to be an enriching scientific and cultural experience, where tradition and innovation meet, and where knowledge, collaboration, and inspiration come together.
I look forward to welcoming you personally in Athens.
